Meet Your Fellow Pensioner
WHAT IS A PENSIONER?
Defined as a person who is in reciept of a periodical payment made in consideration of past service or old age. Partly funded by the state and or a third party. In theory this income coupled with the third party contributions. Should be large enough to live on and provide the subject a quality of life, equal to that enjoyed whilst working.
This however is rarely the case, as not all employees are members of a company scheme. Therefore in most cases the retiree finds the renumeration less than adequate.
The lucky ones are those that are in possesion of a final salary scheme, or an index linked package as enjoyed by the
Civil Service,
Or indeed the package enjoyed by the
Armed Services
Most retirees are over 60 and drawing
State Income
and little else. This is all to often the case with the
Self Employed
It therefore follows that most are on some form of state benefit. A few have had the foresight to address the problem, by taking out some form of private
provision
Unfortunately this has usually happened at quite a late stage, recording very little growth. Added to which the recent falls in the stock market has compounded the problem.
At this present time it is difficult to know what to do.
WHAT CAN BE DONE? - Well there are few options open to you.
IF YOU CAN or HAVE NO OPTION - SIT IT OUT. Stock markets always come back. The questions are WHEN? and HOW STRONG?
ALTERNATIVELY - MOVE YOUR MONEY. Again the question is WHERE?
I DO NOT KNOW and NEITHER do the EXPERTS. REMEMBER they got us into this MESS. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. SORRY!
